Saudi Visa Assistance for UAE Residents
Check your eligibility and apply for a Saudi Visit Visa from the UAE for tourism, visiting family and relatives, attending events, short business visits or performing Umrah outside the Hajj season.
Available options include the Saudi tourist eVisa, visa on arrival for eligible travellers, the 96-hour stopover visa and sponsor-based family or business visit visas. Eligibility depends on your nationality, UAE residence status and reason for travel.
Yes. Many UAE residents can apply online for a Saudi tourist eVisa. Approval depends on the applicant’s nationality, UAE residence permit, profession where requested, passport validity and the eligibility rules shown on the official Saudi visa platform. UAE residence alone does not guarantee approval.
UAE residents travelling to Saudi Arabia can choose from several visa types. The correct option depends on nationality, UAE residence validity, travel purpose, length of stay and whether a Saudi citizen, resident or company is inviting the traveller.
A Saudi tourist eVisa is suitable for tourism, events, visiting family and relatives, leisure and Umrah outside the Hajj season. It does not permit employment, paid work, long-term study or residence in Saudi Arabia.
Important: UAE residence does not automatically guarantee approval. The traveller must meet the Saudi visa conditions that apply to the passport nationality, residence status and selected visa type.
Choose the visa that matches the main purpose of your visit. A tourist visa cannot be used for employment, paid work or long-term residence in Saudi Arabia.
| Saudi Visa Type | Who It Is For | Main Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Tourist eVisa | Tourism, events, visiting family or friends and eligible Umrah travel. | Normally issued as a one-year multiple-entry visa to eligible applicants, with stays subject to the period stated on the visa. |
| GCC Resident eVisa | Eligible expatriates holding valid UAE or other GCC residence. | Residence validity and other eligibility conditions are checked during the online application. |
| Family Visit Visa | People invited by an eligible Saudi citizen or Saudi resident. | The host generally starts the invitation or visa request through the official Saudi visa system. |
| Business Visit Visa | Meetings, conferences, commercial discussions, supplier visits and business events. | A Saudi company or authorised organisation may need to issue or support the invitation. |
| Stopover Transit Visa | Eligible passengers travelling through Saudi Arabia on a qualifying airline booking. | Allows a stay of up to 96 hours. Insurance and airline-related charges may still apply. |
| Visa on Arrival | Travellers who meet Saudi visa-on-arrival nationality or supporting-visa conditions. | Eligibility must be checked before departure. Final entry remains subject to Saudi immigration approval. |
| Consular Visa | Applicants who cannot use the tourist eVisa or visa-on-arrival service. | Application requirements depend on nationality, purpose of travel and instructions from the Saudi mission. |
The Saudi tourist eVisa for UAE residents is an online visit visa available to eligible travellers living in the UAE. Eligible applicants can apply online without submitting a standard paper application through a Saudi embassy or consulate.
The Saudi tourist eVisa is generally valid for one year and allows multiple entries. Travellers may stay for up to 90 days, subject to the validity, entry limit and permitted stay stated on the approved visa.
| Visa detail | Saudi tourist eVisa rules |
|---|---|
| Validity | Generally valid for one year from the issue date |
| Entries | Multiple entry unless stated otherwise on the issued visa |
| Maximum stay | Up to 90 days, according to the approved visa |
| Permitted purposes | Tourism, leisure, events, visiting family and relatives, and Umrah outside the Hajj period |
| Not permitted | Employment, paid or unpaid work, long-term study, residence or Hajj |
Important: Visa validity and permitted stay are not the same. Even if the eVisa remains valid for one year, the traveler must follow the entry conditions and maximum stay printed on the issued visa.
Residents of GCC countries, including expatriates holding a valid UAE residence visa, can apply for the Saudi tourist visa through the official electronic visa system when they meet the current eligibility rules.
Saudi tourist visa regulations refer to GCC residence validity of at least three months. The application portal also checks the applicant’s nationality, passport validity, residence information and any other conditions shown during the application.
The passport should remain valid for at least six months from the intended date of entry into Saudi Arabia.
The applicant must provide valid UAE residence information. At least three months of remaining residence validity should be available.
The name, nationality, passport number, date of birth and residence details must match the supporting documents.
GCC citizens: Citizens of the GCC states do not require a tourist visa to enter Saudi Arabia. This is different from expatriates who hold UAE or other GCC residence visas.
The documents requested depend on the visa type and the applicant’s eligibility. The following items are commonly required when applying for a Saudi tourist eVisa from the UAE.
Clear passport bio page with at least six months of validity from entry.
UAE residence visa or electronic residence information with sufficient validity.
A clear copy of the applicant’s valid Emirates ID where requested.
Recent digital photograph on a white background that meets portal specifications.
A working email address for account verification and delivery of the electronic visa.
Valid debit or credit card for the visa, VAT, medical insurance and portal charges.
Hotel, family residence or other accommodation address in Saudi Arabia.
Intended arrival date, travel purpose and entry information requested by the portal.
UAE residents of different nationalities may have different Saudi visa options. A UAE residence visa does not mean that every nationality receives the same visa, validity or application conditions.
| Applicant | What Must Be Checked |
|---|---|
| Indian UAE residents | GCC resident eVisa eligibility, UAE residence validity, passport validity and current online conditions. |
| Pakistani UAE residents | Residence status, eligible visa category, occupation conditions where shown and supporting documents. |
| Philippine UAE residents | GCC resident eligibility, passport details, UAE residence validity and purpose of travel. |
| UK, US, EU and other eligible nationals | Direct tourist eVisa eligibility based on nationality and passport validity. |
| Applicants with a US, UK or Schengen visa | Whether the supporting visa meets the current use, validity and issuing-country conditions for the selected Saudi visa. |
A Saudi family visit visa is generally used when a Saudi citizen or resident invites an eligible relative to visit the Kingdom. The host normally submits the request through the official Saudi visa platform.
Supporting documents can include:
A Saudi business visit visa is intended for short commercial visits such as company meetings, conferences, partnership discussions, contract negotiations and supplier visits.
The application may require:
A business visit visa does not provide permission to take up employment in Saudi Arabia. Employment requires the appropriate Saudi work and residence process.
Eligible travellers with a qualifying stopover booking can apply for a Saudi stopover transit visa. It permits a single entry and a stay of up to 96 hours in Saudi Arabia.
The stopover visa is commonly offered with qualifying bookings through Saudia or Flynas. The visa itself may be offered without a government visa fee, but mandatory insurance and booking-related charges may still apply.
The visa is linked to the qualifying flight booking. Travellers should not assume that a separate airline ticket automatically includes a stopover visa.
Eligible Muslim visitors can normally perform Umrah using a Saudi tourist eVisa, subject to the current Umrah rules, permit requirements and seasonal restrictions.
A tourist eVisa cannot be used for Hajj. Special restrictions can also apply before and during the Hajj season, including entry controls for Makkah. Travellers should check the latest instructions before booking.
The exact checklist depends on the visa type and nationality. Common Saudi visit visa requirements include:
Saudi visit visa fees depend on the visa category, nationality, medical insurance, VAT and application channel. The final amount is displayed before payment on the official portal.
Many eligible tourist eVisa applications are processed electronically, but there is no guaranteed approval time. Additional checks, incorrect passport details, payment problems or document requests can delay the decision.
Visa charges may change without notice and paid application fees may be non-refundable. Check the total shown on the official platform before confirming payment.
Holding an approved visa does not guarantee entry. The final decision is made by Saudi immigration authorities at the port of entry.
